The Emergency Services department encompasses both the Criminal Justice and the Fire Science programs. The Criminal Justice program is designed to provide the student with the legal, technical, and practical aspects of law enforcement procedures. The Associate of Arts degree will provide the student with opportunities for careers or continued education in criminal justice, corrections, juvenile justice, and government or private security operations. The Fire Science program prepares students to enter an exciting career as a fire fighter. There are two degree options for the Fire Science student including the Associate of Arts and the Associate of Applied Science. Each degree offers the opportunity for current firefighters to prepare themselves as supervisors and leaders in their own departments. Either degree will prepare students who wish to begin a career in firefighting.
