MEGA Testing

MEGA stands for Missouri Educator Gateway Assessments. The state of Missouri has changed from the C-BASE product to MEGA, which consists of Missouri Educator Profile (MEP), Missouri General Education Assessment (MoGEA) and Paraprofessional testing. MoGEA testing is mandatory for acceptance into teacher education programs at 4-year colleges and universities, and mandatory for students in Crowder’s AAT program.

Crowder College offers the MoGEA and the Paraprofessional tests Monday through Friday and once a month on Saturday in the Testing Center located in McDonald Hall, third floor, room 318, on the Neosho campus.

MEGA testing is not offered during the weeks of finals, one week before finals, first week of classes, and one week before classes begin.

1) You must first pay and schedule a date and time for your exam at the MEGA website.
2) You must then schedule the identical date and time with Register Blast for Crowder College and pay the non- refundable testing center fee.

Before Testing

  • Examinees must bring to the testing center one current, government-issued identification printed in English, in the name in which you registered, bearing your photograph and signature.
  • All cell phones and electronic items must be turned off.
  • Cell phones, IDs and locker keys are to be left with the test proctor.
  • All other personal items are to be locked in a locker provided by the testing center.
    1. Backpacks, bags, purses, wallets, etc.
    2. Music devices, laptops, cameras, health/fitness trackers, or any type of electronic items.
    3. Outerwear such as coats, sweaters, jackets, scarves, gloves, hats, etc.
    4. Hoodies or any clothing with a hood.
    5. Watches, noisy jewelry, etc.
  • Food or drinks must be left in the proctor’s office and are not allowed into the testing room.
  • Students will not be allowed to take anything to the testing room except for items permitted by your instructor’s written instructions to the test proctor. These items will be inspected by the test proctor.

During Testing

  • Ear plugs, pencils, and erasers are provided and are available in the testing center.
  • Scratch paper will be provided by the test proctor.
  • No talking is allowed in the testing room.
  • Students will lose their testing privileges in the testing center if they are found cheating on a test and the incident will be reported to Missouri Educator Gateway Assessments (MEGA).

After Testing

  • All written and scratch work done during testing must be returned to the test proctor.
  • MoGEA examinees do not receive their score as soon as they complete the exam. Please check the MEGA website for score report dates.

Paraprofessional Test

This test is an Internet-based test (IBT) of two hours consisting of 90 multiple-choice questions. Passing Score is 220.

Missouri General Education Assessment (MoGEA)

This assessment includes four subtests: Reading Comprehension and Interpretation, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies, and Writing. Examinees must pass all four subtests.

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has implemented a testing policy whereby:

  • Candidates have one opportunity to register to take all four subtests in one test session.
  • Candidates may register to take each subtest independently.

The MoGEA is a format Internet-based test (IBT) with multiple-choice questions and written assignment:

  • Reading Comprehension and Interpretation: 39 multiple-choice questions, 75 minutes
  • Mathematics: 40 multiple-choice questions, 75 minutes, an on-screen 4-function calculator and a formulas page are provided
  • Science and Social Studies: 40 multiple-choice questions, 60 minutes
  • Writing: 1 written assignment, 60 minutes
  • All 4 subtests: 4 1/2 hours, plus a 15-minute break between subtests 2 and 3

You must first register and schedule your exam at the MoGEA website or at the Paraprofessional website before scheduling with Register Blast for Crowder College and paying the non-refundable testing center fee. Both fees must be paid before you take the test. For assistance during registration, call MEGA testing customer service at 800-215-0904 or 413-256-2891.

If you do not schedule your exam at the MEGA website, you will not be able to test even if you pay the proctoring fee to Crowder College. Your scheduled day and time with Crowder College must be identical to your scheduled day and time with MEGA.

The MoGEA and Paraprofessional testing fees are non-refundable. If you are intending on reschedule your appointment, it should be done online no later than 24 hours prior to your scheduled test date. You will not be charged another testing fee if you choose to reschedule on Register Blast before the 24 hour period.
