Crowder Aggies Victorious at National Contest

Neosho, MO – Southwest Missouri and Crowder College were represented well at the National Professional Agriculture Students (NPAS) Conference in Loveland, CO, March 12- 16th

Twenty-three Crowder Aggies competed against 600 of the best agriculture students representing colleges and universities from 16 states, in over 20 professional development competitions, ranging from Agronomy, Employment Interview, and Career Planning to Livestock Management. The Aggies brought home over 20 plaques and awards amongst the group.

“Once again, the Crowder Aggies have proven that they are some of the best students in the country. The Ag Division is extremely proud to work with these future leaders of the Ag industry”, emphasized Jorge Zapata, Agriculture Division Chair.

Mikayla Lund (Carthage, MO), Kendra Hayworth (Washburn, MO), and Emily Block (Carthage, MO), took home second in the nation honors in the Equine Science event, and Block was third high individual for the contest.

One of the most coveted awards won by the Crowder Aggies, is the PAS National Championship in Agriculture Knowledge College Bowl. Undefeated in a 31 team bracket style tournament, the Aggies found themselves in the championship round versus Iowa State University in which they were victorious. College Bowl team members included -Cheston Stacy (Stockton, MO), Hilsden Moseley (Wheaton, MO), Nastasia Neier (Bella Vista, AR), Chance Wallace (Seneca, MO) and Wyatt Graves (Eldorado Springs, MO).

Individual awards went to the following outstanding Aggies,

Sydney Delossantos (Washburn, MO) – 3rd Place- Employment Interview – Fruit and Vegetable Production
Cheston Stacy (Stockton, MO) – 1st Place- Career Progress – Horticulture, Environmental and Natural Resources –
Hilsden Moseley (Wheaton, MO) – 1st Place – Career Progress – Agriculture Processing and Biotechnology
Nastasia Neier (Bella Vista, AR) – 2nd Place – Career Progress – Non-Ruminant Animal Systems
Emilee Block (Carthage, MO) – 2nd Place – Career Progress – Retail Agribusiness Systems
Grace Box (Neosho, MO) – 3rd Place – Employment Interview – Landscaping and Nursery Design
Ashton Baker (Carl Junction, MO) – 3rd Place – Career Planning – Agriculture Education
