Monte Padgett Monte Padgett, SSS Director

I graduated from Nevada High School in 1990 then finished my B.S.E in math education at MSSU in 1996. I began working as a teacher and coach in southwest Missouri. I graduated from PSU with a Masters in school administration in 2003. I spent the next two years as a Jr/Sr High School principal and began as an adjunct math instructor at the Nevada campus. Fifteen years of teaching and administration lead me to be the Student Support Services Director in October of 2009. I enjoy coming to work each day and helping both my staff and students. Crowder College is a great place to be. In my spare time I like to spend time with my wife and children, hunt, work in my machine shop.

I am thrilled to be involved in the new Student Support Services Nevada program. I truly enjoy the opportunity to help students achieve their goals. After high school I earned a bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University in Springfield, MO, and taught secondary Business Education for several years. I enjoy being an adjunct at the college level and look forward to this new phase in education. I treasure spending time with my family, am an avid reader, and enjoy cooking.

Russell Souza Russell Souza, Academic Coordinator

I am Russell Souza and I really enjoy working with students to help them achieve their academic goals and improve their lives via education. I have a bachelor’s degree from Missouri Southern State University and a background that includes residential & commercial construction, construction consulting, social work, and various board/trustee experience. For fun I like to game on the Xbox, fish, and golf. I am married to a wonderful lady and we have three sons. My wife and I look forward to hitting flea markets, craft fairs, and taking short trips. I enjoy apologetics and love any related studies or activities.

Winston Churchill is someone I have always admired. My favorite quote from Mr. Churchill is this: “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

Leona Kristek Leona Kristek, Administrative Assistant

I am excited to be a part of the new Nevada SSS program. Being a Crowder Alumna makes this an even more awesome experience! I graduated from Crowder College in 2001 with an Associate’s Degree in Education. From there I attended Missouri Southern State University obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. I Love Crowder’s “Life Time Learner” benefit, which allows me to continue enrolling in classes that help me grow as a person (Expense free!). I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and my two daughters. In my spare time I enjoy reading, watching sports, listening to music, and playing with my two sweet dogs. My advice to students: “Precious, Present, Moment Living is where true happiness is found.”
