Degree Options
The nursing program is a multiple entry, limited admission program.
A grade point average of 2.75 and a minimum ACT composite score of 19 are required for both levels of students.
Students without previous nursing education (those who are NOT licensed practical nurses) enter the program at Level I. These students must be high school graduates with a 2.75 GPA and must complete Anatomy & Physiology I (BIOL 152) prior to beginning the nursing program.

Nursing Program Level I
(Applicants who are not LPN’s)
So, you want to become a Registered Nurse. Where do you go from here? The answer is easy…Crowder College!
Crowder’s multiple entry nursing programs cater both to graduates with basic competencies and a sincere desire to enter the nursing profession as well as to licensed practical nurses seeking advanced training and continued learning.
Application requirements are as follows:
- Be approved for admission to Crowder College.
- Be at least 19 years of age by completion of the program.
- Have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
- Must be a CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) PRIOR to beginning the program.
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.75 on general education courses required for the Crowder Nursing Program.
- Have a minimum ACT composite score of 19.
- Eligibility to write the Licensure exam as described in the Missouri Nursing Practice Act section 335.066 (1-15); completion of the program does not guarantee eligibility.
Note: All general education courses must be completed by both Level I and Level II students.

Nursing Program Level II
(Applicants who are already LPN’s)
Crowder’s multiple entry nursing programs cater both to graduates with basic competencies and a sincere desire to enter the nursing profession as well as to licensed practical nurses seeking advanced training and continued learning.
Application requirements are as follows:
- Current licensure as a practical nurse.
- Complete Anatomy & Physiology I & II, and Survey of Chemistry with a minimum grade of “C” in each class before beginning the program.
- Be able to complete the nursing sequence within two (2) years.
- IV Certification
- Apply to the Nursing program from April 15 – August 15.
All general education courses must be completed by both Level I and Level II students.
