Neosho, MO– Crowder College Board of Trustees voted to name Ken Schutten, Board of Trustee member for McDonald County after coming out of closed session Monday, July 28.
Schutten is the Communications Director for McDonald County Schools, where he oversees social media, marketing, and all district communication efforts.
“I’m honored to join the Crowder College family and be part of shaping its future,” said Schutten. “It’s a privilege to follow in the footsteps of Larry Vancuren and Jim Tatum, two men I greatly respected. I look forward to continuing their legacy of service to the college, its students, and our community.”
“Ken will be a great addition to our Board,” stated Andy Wood, Chair, Crowder Board of Trustees “We had two fantastic candidates who each embodied servant-leadership. While it was a very hard decision for the Board, we are confident Ken is who we need to help lead us through the next several challenging years for higher education.”
Schutten will serve until the next election, which will be April 2027. He is replacing longtime board member Larry Vancuren.
Ken and his wife, Julie live in Anderson, Missouri. They have two children: Griffin and Janie.
