RE: Crowder Technical Education Summer School provides real-world experiences for younger students

Neosho, MO – The Crowder College Technical Education Center is hosting summer school for students entering grades 6-8, May 30-June 23, at the Dell Reed Technical Education Center on the Neosho campus. Students participating are from the school districts of Diamond, East Newton, Neosho, and Seneca.

“This hands-on learning environment provides insight into various careers students could pursue in the future,” stated Nathan Fent, Director of Career and Technical Education. “We hope this inspires the younger students to look beyond familiar careers, while also gaining some valuable skills.”

This year’s summer program will offer the students choices of four one-week programs in the following:

                Agriculture
                Computer Science
               Construction
                Health Science
                Teacher Preparation

This program started several years ago, and has been successful in recruiting summer school participants. This year’s summer school has 125 students participating.
