Former Roughrider Baseball player Sam Hilliard

Neosho, MO – Former Roughrider Baseball player Sam Hilliard will be making his major league debut with the Colorado Rockies tonight as an outfielder.

Hilliard (Mansfield, TX) played for the Roughriders in 2014. He then went on to play for Wichita State and was drafted in 2015. This season Hilliard has been playing for the AAA Albuquerque Isotopes with 131 hits, 109 runs, and 101 RBIs. He is one of three Minor League Baseball players with at least 30 home runs and 20 stolen bases (35 home runs and 22 stolen bases) His fielding percentage in 122 games is .992.

Hilliard was named to the 2019 All-Pacific Coast League Team in 2019. He set the single-season record for runs with 109 scored and 71 extra-base hits.
