RE: Crowder College Softball Era of 1982-1992 to be Inducted into the Missouri Sports
    Hall of Fame

Neosho, MO – Crowder College – The Crowder College Softball teams of 1982 through
1992 will be honored and celebrated in less than a month for their induction into the
Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in Springfield.

In the span of a decade, these teams made 6 National Tournament Appearances, placing
    2nd in 1984, 1991 and 1992, as well as placing 3rd in 1987 and 4th in 1983. Between all
the teams, there were dozens of NJCAA All-Americans and over a dozen team records
made. In 1986, the team won the National Tournament and 63 games that season, a
record that still holds to this day.

“A decade of softball teams being inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame speaks
to the grit and pride that define our program. Coaches Annie Westfall and Millie Gilion
laid the foundation for success and started Crowder’s rise as the most dominant NJCAA
program in Region 16,” stated Brandi Arthur, Crowder College Athletic Director and
Crowder Softball Ghostrider. “We’re proud of this legacy and excited to keep building on
it for even greater success in the years ahead.”

The Ghostriders (former Crowder College athletes) will be inducted on Sunday, February
1 at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield, among several other honored athletes.
