Program Overview
Today’s diesel technicians are constantly being challenged to keep diesel-powered equipment running efficiently to meet the needs of businesses. Technicians service the equipment that moves freight, earth and people, drills for oil, powers farm tractors and generates electrical power.
Crowder trains diesel technicians to diagnose and repair engine problems, service/repair hydraulic systems, electrical/electronic systems, brake systems, and powertrains in over-the-road, agricultural, and construction settings.
Diesel Technology is a two year program designed for students who seek a career in the diesel engine repair industry. Students have the opportunity to study the basics of operation in the classroom and then apply that knowledge in the job while working on training components as well as actual trucks.

Program Overview
The HVAC Technology program prepares students for employment as entry-level service and warranty technicians in the heating and air conditioning industry by providing a variety of hands-on, real-world experiences. Students will have the opportunity to earn the EPA 608 refrigerant certification.
The HVAC Installer and HVAC Technician certificates prepare students for employment in HBAC with a skill set that includes electrical safety, fundamentals of heating and cooling, electrical and mechanical systems, ductwork, airflow, and print reading. Students will gain experience troubleshooting equipment and gain an understanding of commercial equipment during their time in the HVAC program,

Program Overview
The Construction Technology program prepares students for employment in the construction industry or in related occupations. The program is built around National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) standards and is comprised of a core component covering basic employability skills, introductory carpentry, and construction management.
The Construction Technology and Advanced Construction Technology certificates prepare students for entry-level employment in the construction industry with a skill set that includes construction safety, common hand/power tools, basic carpentry fundamentals, framing and finishing, masonry, plumbing, and residential wiring. In the Advanced certificate, students will be introduced to site layout and project management and supervision. All courses are based on the NCCER (National Council for Construction Education and Research) curriculum.

Program Purpose
The Advanced Provider (AdP) to Paramedic Bridge Program is available for those individuals who currently possess an advanced practice license of the following: Registered Nurse (RN), Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician (MD/DO). The AdP-Paramedic bridge program is designed to address areas of the National Paramedic Curriculum that is absent or not clearly addressed in curricula from other advanced provider offerings. The AdP-Paramedic bridge program is designed to address areas of the National Paramedic Curriculum that are absent or not clearly addressed in curricula from other advanced provider offerings. The program will prepare the AdP for the National Registry paramedic examination.
The AdP will have to take a schedule of 2 courses in order to complete the program and be eligible for testing with the National Registry. The course offerings are outlined below:
Advanced Provider to Paramedic (EMTP 277): An online course that consists of eight (8) weeks of online coursework completed through the Canvas system. This course is 6 credit hours of college credit.
Advanced Provider to Paramedic Clinical 1 (EMTP 278): This course consists of multiple components, and is 3 hours of college credit.
- An on-site skill week where the student(s) will review paramedic skills and be placed through simulations to meet all accreditation, state, and National Registry requirements.
- Clinical time consisting of a capstone of ride time on an ALS ambulance.*
* The capstone ride time can be completed in either the local area around Crowder College, or in the home location of the student. A list of states that do not allow students attending an out-of-state institution or a bridge program can be found in the EMS program outline Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page. If a student plans to attend clinical rotations in the local area of Crowder College this will be coordinated with the Clinical Coordinator, and typically takes place after the skills week is completed. This would require a commitment from the student of a total of approximately 12-14 days in the Crowder College local area.
Minimum Entry for All Applicants
In order to be eligible to enroll into the AdP to Paramedic program, each applicant must have the following requirements:
- AdP license must be in good standing with a minimum of 1000 hours of AdP work experience in the past two (2) years
- The AdP must possess a current EMT or AEMT license from the National Registry or a state entity within the United States.**
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS provider (American Red Cross accepted, AHA preferred)
- Applicants must also meet one of the following criteria***:
- Two or more years of Emergency or Critical Care experience
- One year of RN experience in ER or Critical Care, and one year of pre-hospital experience (totaling two years of experience)
- One year of RN experience with a current BCEN (Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing) certification and is currently working in emergency or critical care nursing.
**The EMT or AEMT license MUST be current and on file with the Crowder College EMS department prior to starting clinical rotations for the AdP to Paramedic program. ***The Crowder College AdP-PM Work Verification Form (WVF) must be completed to show satisfactory entry into the program according to the criteria above. The WVF is found in the application packet.

The paramedic program at Crowder College provides didactic instruction, clinical experience and field internships to assist students in developing the theoretical and technical skills consistent with the goals and objectives of the 2009 National EMS Education Standards and the 1999 U.S. Department of Transportation National Standard Curriculum for the Paramedic.
Crowder College’s Hybrid Paramedic Program is designed to afford both United States Domestic and International Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) an excellent educational experience from the comfort of your home. The college’s EMS Programs are both state and nationally accredited through the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and CAAHEP, respectively.

Program Information
Complete the entire program in less than 12 months: 6 months online, 4 months in the US. In addition to obtaining Paramedic Certification, interested Paramedic Candidates may choose to pursue the Associates of Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Paramedicine.
- FREC 4/5 accepted for admission to the program. This is equivalent to an EMT license.
- We provide an option for on-campus housing.

- Guided support from International Coordinator for visa acquisition, pre- and post-arrival instructions.
By enrolling in the hybrid paramedic program, students MAY engage in clinical rotations in a hospital and ambulance service geographically convenient to them (this may be the service for which the student currently works, or any other service willing to sign a collaborative agreement with Crowder College’s EMS Education Program.) STUDENTS DO NOT NEED TO RESIDE IN MISSOURI during their clinical rotations, although a brief, on-ground visit for intensive skills training is necessary (usually two weeks).Currently, California, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico, New York, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin do not allow out-of-state paramedic students to engage in clinical rotations within their state. If you live in one of these states, please contact Crowder EMS before applying to the program.
At the completion of the clinical hours, Paramedic Candidates will be eligible to sit for the National Registry Paramedic exam (NRP).
