Checklist for International Admission

Submit International Student Application

After you have completed your online International Student Application, please submit the following items to: international@crowder.edu 
  1. Current Passport
  2. Transcripts
  3. Finances
  4. English Proficiency
Once your full application package is complete, we will issue your I-20. After your visa is confirmed, please contact the International Coordinator to discuss Housing, Insurance and Arrival.

Copy of high school transcript, diploma, completion certificate, or leaving certificate must be provided. These documents must be officially translated through a translation company.

To transfer credits from a U.S. college or university, official transcript should be sent directly from your college/university via mail to Records, 601 Laclede Ave, Neosho, MO 64850 or email them to Records@Crowder.edu.

To transfer credits from a foreign college or university, it must be processed through the World Education Services (WES) prior to enrollment.

Proof of finances, such as bank statements dated within the last 6 months, showing funds equal to or exceeding an estimated $17,746 USD (For a breakdown of current tuition and fees, please visit the Tuition Rates page)

Financial Compliance Information

– If you do not have sufficient personal funds, you must submit proof of sponsorship along with the sponsor’s financial documentation.

– If you are waiting to be awarded a scholarship, you must include a letter from your department or sport coach stating they intend to offer you a scholarship pending acceptance and visa approval.

Crowder College requires proof of English proficiency for all students from non-native English-speaking countries. Please submit your English proficiency test scores to the International Coordinator. An official copy of test scores is required. A list of accepted English proficiency tests is listed below. Students transferring from a US College or University will have the requirement waived if they have passed ENGL 101 or equivalent course.

The Form I-20 will be issued after sections Current Passport, High School Transcript, College Transcripts, Finances, and English Proficiency are on file, and the student has been accepted for study at Crowder College. An Acceptance Letter and a letter for your Embassy will be issued upon acceptance. To check the status of your application you may contact the International Program Coordinator at international@crowder.edu for more information.

Next steps after you receive your Form I-20:

    • Pay SEVIS FEE (prior to your VISA interview)

    • Schedule and complete Visa interview

Please NOTE:  For more student VISA information please visit the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services website.

 

    • On-Campus Housing: Submit application via our housing page. Please inform the International Coordinator of your housing choice. Do NOT submit a deposit until housing is secured.
    • Please do not book housing until your visa is secured.
    • Use the Payment Authorization Form to make your $300 deposit.

    • Off-Campus: Advise International Coordinator of your living arrangements

All international students are required to have health insurance that includes emergency medical evacuation and repatriation. Athletes may require additional sport-related coverage. Students will be required to provide proof of insurance. Please contact the International Coordinator for detailed plan information

Once you have received your visa, you may enter the United States up to 30 days before the start date listed on your I-20. Please note that on campus housing will not be available until the Saturday before your first day of classes. Crowder College can connect you with volunteers who provide airport pickup from the following airports:

Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA)
Joplin Regional Airport (JLN)

– Please contact the International Coordinator with your flight details to arrange airport pickup or to report any flight changes.

– If your flight arrives at an airport not listed above, you will be responsible for making your own transportation arrangements to campus.
