Adult Education and Literacy & Community Education Director. Provides oversight of AEL Program including 14 sites and approximately 20 staff. Crowder College Upward Bound Math Science (UBMS) Assistant Director. UBMS is a federally funded grant program serving high school students who wish to attend college. The goal of UBMS is to increase the college going and college completion rates of students in the area. The Assistant Director implements the activities that support the objectives of the project and supervises tutors, Resident Assistants, Saturday School, Summer Component instructors, and other UBMS staff. The AD is also responsible for providing continuity among and between UBMS programs’ staff. The AD maintains close working relationships with target school personnel (teachers, counselors, and administrators), parents, and college staff/faculty. The AD is responsible for developing and implementing the curriculum for the Summer Component and Saturday Schools. The AD works cooperatively with the UB/UBMS staff, SSS staff, and related college support personnel and is directly supervised by the TRIO Director.
To qualify, a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in education, math, science, counseling or closely related field; a master’s is preferred; excellent communication skills; and experience working with students and/or disadvantaged populations preferred. Full-time Advanced Manufacturing Instructional Specialist. Nine-month position with full benefits starting Fall 2012 to provide instruction and program development services in all areas of advanced manufacturing offered by the college. Applicants should have education/experience in manufacturing automation, robotics, industrial electricity, and/or industrial maintenance. Various instructional strategies will be used including traditional classroom methods, hands-on demonstrations/participation, computer/web-based instruction, and/or various combinations of these approaches. Occupational Therapy Assistant Program Director, Crowder College. The Occupational Therapy Assistant Program (OTA Program) was awarded “developing status” in August 2011. MDHE approval has been submitted, a program budget has been established, all the course syllabi have been approved and text books selected. The Director will be responsible for the implementation and smooth operation of the OTA Program. Will include teaching responsibility once the program starts in Fall of 2012. Must be a licensed occupational therapist or OT assistant licensed in Missouri; must have a bachelor’s degree, a master’s by July 2012; four years of experience in the OT field; one year of teaching experience preferred. Summer 2012 Job Opportunity
The Crowder College Upward Bound Programs are seeking positive, enthusiastic individuals for positions as Resident Assistants during the summer of 2012. The positions offer employment for 6 to 12 weeks beginning in late May and ending in mid-August. Duties include supervision of residence halls, activities, trips, tutoring high school students, and general office work. Salary: $300 per week plus paid training, room and board, and expenses while on off-campus activities and/or the summer cultural trip. Residence hall or youth experience preferred.
