We currently have several opportunities to work directly with Elementary schoolers during the school day this spring. We call our in-classroom volunteers Educators, and we ask our educators to commit 2 or more hours each week for the duration of our weekly programming, which in this case is 6 weeks. The requirements for being an Art Feeds Educator are 30+ hours of college credit and/or 500 hours of experience with children or some combination of the two. All Educators are fully trained by Art Feeds before programming begins so they can enter the classroom equipped with confidence.

Newton County Library
The Genealogy department at Newton County Library is looking for some volunteers to help with the local obituary index. We have fallen behind on making the cards for our cabinet and would appreciate the help so that our records are available for those who come to research their family members. The work is more time consuming than difficult. Volunteers would mostly work on labeling, cutting, and pasting so we can upload the information to our online obituary index and our cabinet.

We do have a volunteer application that they must fill out as well as some kind of information stating they are in school. We work with children age 6 weeks-12 years old. Contact a week in advance.
