Casey played at Crowder from 2014-2016 before transferring on to Arkansas State University for his last two years. During his time at Crowder, Casey hit .316 with 83 R, 17 2B, 6 3B, 12 HR with 80 RBI and 21 SB. He was also a member of the 2014 Region Championship team and hit in the three-hole most of the year. At Arkansas State, Casey was selected as the SunBelt Conference student ambassador for the university.
Derek played at Crowder in 1996 and 1997. As a freshman, he hit .388 with 43 runs scored and 39 RBIs. He had 29 extra base hits including 13 doubles, and 13 homeruns. As a sophomore, he hit .435 with 53 runs scored and 37 RBIs with 20 extra base hits including 12 doubles and 5 homeruns. He was voted the Regional Tournament MVP that same year. After Crowder, he transferred to Missouri Southern State University where he was named an all-MIAA player in 1998.
Chuck pitched for the Roughriders in 1992 and 1993. As a freshman, he went 5 and 1 with a 4.32 ERA and 31 Ks in 34 innings. As a sophomore, he had 5 strikeouts in 3 and 2/3rds innings. Chuck’s impact stretched well beyond the field and despite limited time, he was voted by his teammates as the Fred Steinmark “Guts” Award. After Crowder, he went to work for the railroad working his way up to a conductor and eventually become the area union rep. He then decided to challenge himself once again and enrolled in the Kansas City Police Academy where he finished at the top of his class. He worked with the Kansas City Police Department until his death in August of 2015.
Jon pitched for the Roughriders in 2003 and 2004. As a freshman, he went 2-3 with a 5.40 ERA in 38.1 IP only surrendering 9BB. As a sophomore, Jon was 2-2 with 8 starts and threw 37.2 IP with a 6.69 ERA. Jon went on to play at the University of Central Missouri and now lives in Kansas City where he works for Northwestern Mutual.
Corey pitched for the Roughriders in 2005 and 2006. As a freshman, he was 4-0 with 1 Save in 50.7 IP with 43 Ks and 18 BB and a 2.84 ERA. As a sophomore, Corey sustained an injury early in the year and missed the 2006 season before transferring on to Missouri State University.
Kevin played for the Roughriders in 2007 and 2008. His freshman year, he hit .304 with a .484 OBP. As a sophomore, Kevin hit .265 and had 19RBI with a .353 OBP. Kevin was a catalyst on the 2008 Region 16 championship team and transferred on to University of Texas-Permian Basin after leaving Crowder.
Thane served as relief pitcher for the Roughriders in 1990 and 1991. His freshman year, he recorded an ERA of 4.09. He showed tremendous improvement his sophomore year when he went 7 and 4, with a .98 ERA, 50 IP, 56 Ks, and 29 BBs. He then set a school record his sophomore year garnering .98 ERA. His sophomore year, he helped the team claim the Region 16 Championship by pitching 6 1/3 innings in the two final games. Thane was drafted by The Phillies in the 26th round and played on the active roster of the 1991 Martainsville Phillies and 1992 Batavia Clippers.
