The Brown Complex located on Campus houses between 180-250 students in 14 individual houses containing 6 suites in each. Each of the houses have a community area with a sink, microwave, table and four chairs, couch, and lounge chair. Crowder also provides a color television with satellite TV and a local use telephone in the commons area. Each carpeted suite has two or three bunkable beds, two closets with individual locks, five drawers for storage, and two desks with a chair. It is Dorm Vanitypossible hook up both phone and satellite service in the individual suites if students wish to pay for these services. The Dorms have wireless internet access plus there are two com ports for access to the internet provided by Crowder College. Another service provided for students residing on campus is a free semester membership at the Freeman Family YMCA located on the Crowder College campus.

Living in the complex makes it easy to make new friends, attend study sessions, sporting events and other activities on campus. Plus there is always someone to talk to or borrow a movie from! It’s also convenient to get up at 7:55 am, slip on some shoes, and still make it to your 8 am class before the instructor shuts the door!

Living on Campus is Affordable


Living in the dorms is very affordable. The cost per semester (as of the Fall 2010 semester) is as follows:

Double occupancy = $766/semester + $1234/board = $2000/semester
Triple Occupancy = $566/semester + $1234/board = $1800/semester

This includes a 19 meal plan for a double occupancy room. As demand for housing continues to grow students may be placed in triple occupancy rooms. What should I bring??
You need to bring your own:
-Linens and Pillows
-Decorations for your own room
-Personal Hygiene Products

You may bring per suite:
-One refrigerator
-One television
-One stereo

You might want to bring:
-Throw rugs
-VCR/DVD player
-Personal computer
-Lamps (No Halogen Lamps!!)

Remember! No pets of any sort are allowed in the dorms!

How will I get my mail?
You and your roommate will be assigned a mail box when you arrive on campus. This mail box will be located in the Crowder Bookstore in the Arnold Farber Academic Building. Your mailing address will be:

The Resident Assistants (RA’s) live in the complex and are easily accessible to the students.

 

 

 

RA’s are here to assist students living in the Residence Complex and assist with all of the following:

  • Room checks
  • Emergencies
  • Room lockouts
  • Report maintenance problems
  • Parking problems
  • Directions
  • Act as liaison between resident and administration
  • Listener in times of trouble or personal difficulties

RA’s serve as a resource as they assist in the organization and planning of programs and activities, help students with personal matters, work to insure safety and security of the Residence Complex. They serve as role models and help foster an atmosphere of community among the resident by providing them with an opportunity to become involved in campus life.
