A $25 application fee is waived. To access the application from the homepage, click on the Admissions link/Application of Admission/Dual Enrollment Application.
2. Placement Exam: Compass or ACT
COMPASS is a computerized placement exam that will help your academic advisor place you in the correct English and math and reading based classes. Call 417-455-5602 to schedule a test time, or call your nearest Crowder site listed below.
ACT test results: You must have a 19 on the English portion of the ACT, a 23 on the math portion, and an 18 in the reading portion to be placed college-level English, math courses, and classes with a reading requirement. If you do not have these scores you must take the COMPASS. COMPASS consists of three parts: Math, Reading, and Writing. There is no initial charge for taking the COMPASS test. If you score does not qualify you for Dual Credit course(s), retakes of any section cost $5 each. COMPASS test may be taken up to 3 times prior to enrolling in Dual Credit course(s).
3. Cost and Payment:
Dual credit classes will be billed to your home address at a rate of $60 per credit hour. There are generally no additional fees, and most text books will be loaned at no charge if returned in good condition. Workbooks must be purchased. Receipt of a bill will depend on the date of enrollment. It is difficult to get to all schools for enrollment at the same time, so some billings will be later than others. Paymnet must be made in full before a student may enroll in any classes in subsequent semesters or receive a transcript. Although there is a payment plan available, the student (or parents) can make payments on their own schedule, keeping in mind that they must be paid in full by the end of the semester.
4. Review the schedule of classes:
This will give you a chance to become familiar with the types of classes Crowder has to offer, and the different times they are held.
