The list of media contacts provided below are for your reference in knowing which radio/television station to monitor for information concerning classes that are cancelled due to bad weather. When the decision is made by Alan Marble as to the severity of the weather and the difficulty of travel on surroundings streets/highways due to the weather, the listed media sites will be contacted by phone - usually before 6:00 a.m.

The following two standard weather related messages will most often be given to the media representatives:

  • Crowder College has cancelled (day, twilight, evening) classes for (date) due to the weather conditions.

  • Crowder College is closed for (date) due to the weather.

Note: If classes are CANCELLED - all administrators, professional and classified staff members are expected to report for work - if at all possible. You must call your supervisor if you will be delayed on arriving or cannot report for work that day.

If the college is CLOSED - then no administrators, professional or classified staff members are expected to report for work on the day(s) indicated in the message

The college website "weather status" page as well as the "Information Line" - 417-455-5732 are the first two areas that will be updated in the event of a weather related cancellation or closing.

The media sites below are listed in the order in which they will normally be called. (Suggestion: If you are unable to access the website or 417-455-5732 information line, please verify Crowder closing/cancellation notice by checking with two media sources.)
