Minimum Requirements
for
Crowder College Online Courses
Hardware:
- Must have a
computer or access to one.
- The Computer
must be able to access the Internet.
- The computer
must be able to run a Graphic Web Browser that is Java and Frames capable.
(for example, Netscape 7 or higher or Microsoft Internet Explorer 6
or higher.)
Software:
- Must have software necessary
to access the Internet.
- Must have a Graphic Web
Browser that is Java and Frames capable. (for example, Netscape 7 or
higher or Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or higher.)
- Download and install the
latest Java (free) click
here.
- Must have word processing
software that can save in "Rich Text Format".
- Must have an active Internet
email account.
- Although not required it
is recommended to have virus protection loaded and active on the workstation.
User Requirements and/or skills:
- Ability to access the Internet
- Proficient in using a web
browser.
- Proficient in sending and
receiving email including sending and receiving attachments.
- Proficient in using a word-processing
program.
- Proficient at downloading
software or documents.
- Able to download and install
plug-ins for a web browser such as RealPlayer, Shockwave or Adobe Acrobat
Reader.
- Able to meet additional
special requirements that are specified for a particular class.
