Tina Robbins, Head Coach
Tina Robbins is beginning her first season as the Head Women’s
Basketball Coach at Crowder, but is no stranger to Southwest Missouri.
She grew up in Duenweg, went to Joplin High School, and graduated
from Missouri State University. She is tremendously excited and
honored to be back in the Southwest Missouri area.
As
a player, Robbins, a former Kodak Honorable Mention All-American
basketball player at Missouri State University, brings in the
best possible credentials. She played on four conference championship
Lady Bear teams from 1991-94 and went 104-23 as a player. She
led her team to a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 1993 and a Final
Four appearance in 1992. During the 1992 Final Four playoff run,
she was named the NCAA Midwest Regional MVP. In her senior season,
she was named to the Kodak All-American team, Missouri Valley
Conference Tournament MVP, and Academic All-District VII.
In
1994, Robbins was named the Missouri Association for Health, Physical
Education, Recreation and Dance Physical Education Major of the
Year. She topped that award in 1995 by being named the National
Association for Sport and Physical Education’s Outstanding
Physical Education Major. She graduated from MSU in 1995 with
a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. Robbins received
her Masters of Science degree in Physical Education from Emporia
State University in 2005.
Beginning
in the fall of 1995, Robbins taught and coached at Joplin High
School in Joplin, MO. She compiled a record of 52-50 and claimed
one conference tri-championship. In 1999, she moved on to Glendale
High School in Springfield, MO and served as the varsity girl’s
head coach and the department head for Physical Education and
Health. She led her teams to a 91-69 record, two undefeated conference
championships and three second place district finishes while at
Glendale. Robbins spent the past two years as the Head Women’s
Basketball coach at LeTourneau University in Longview, TX. While
at LeTourneau, she doubled the programs win total from the previous
two years. Robbins coached 1 ASC East 2nd team member, 5 ASC East
Honorable Mention members, 2 ASC East Freshman team members, and
7 ASC Academic All-Conference members in her two years at LeTourneau.
Robbins
has been inducted into the Joplin Area Sports Hall of Fame (2001)
and the MSU Athletic Hall of Fame (2002). In 2007, by popular
demand, Robbins was also voted on to the All-MVC Centennial Team.

Katrina Visina, Assistant Coach
Katrina
Visina is beginning her first season as the assistant women’s
basketball coach for the Lady ‘Riders. Katrina is originally
from Rowlett, TX, where she was a standout three-sport athlete.
She continued her playing career at LeTourneau University, where
she lettered in basketball, golf, and cross country. Visina accumulated
many accolades as a three-sport athlete at LeTourneau, including
1st Team NCCAA Central Region (03-04), 2nd Team NCCAA All-American
(04-05), ASC East Honorable Mention (03-04, 04-05, 05-06), 2nd
Team All ASC Conference (05-06), and ASC Player of the Week (06-07).
She will leave LeTourneau with her name appearing in the basketball
career record book 13 times.
Although,
Katrina joins Crowder College just out of college, she nonetheless
brings both experience and enthusiasm to the Lady ‘Rider
Program. Upon playing multiple sports at LeTourneau, she also
served as a student assistant to the women’s basketball
coaches and as member and vice-president of the NCAA Student Athletic
Advisory Committee. As a student assistant, she had a hand in
basketball operations, camp operations, recruiting, marketing,
and fundraising for the LadyJacket program.
Although
Katrina dedicated much of her time to the realm of collegiate
athletics, she nevertheless upheld an honors standing at a highly
technical school. Her academic accolades included 7 ASC Academic
All-Conference Honors, a nomination to the National Dean’s
List (03-04), the Letourneau’s Dean’s List (03-04),
and a recognizable honor from Who’s Who among American College
Students (06-07).
In
December 2007, Visina will graduate from LeTourneau University
with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Secondary History Education,
and will begin working on her masters in January.
Katrina
is the daughter of Chuck and Jenny Visina and the second youngest
of four sisters.
