Tanner is the son of Rodney & Tracy Stevenson. He was a two-time second team All-City 2nd baseman at Wichita North. Wichita North also won the City League Title in 2007. Tanner was a 2007 Pre-Season Under Armour All-American and made the ABCA Rawlings All-Region Team his senior year.
